Easter Break in Lanzarote

Happy Friday!

Finally Im sitting down to get some photos on the blog of my recent Easter break in Lanzarote! I don’t mean to be gloating here, but, it was amazing! I think I am going to have to go away every Easter from now on. Honestly, it was the only thing getting me through the doom and gloom of January-March. Like how awful has our weather been up until this week? Dreadful! Getting some Vitamin D and feeling the sun on my skin was such a treat.

We stayed in Puerto Del Carmen, which, Im sure most of you out there will have visited at some point in your life. The place was full with Irish and English tourists and nearly every corner you turned there was an Irish bar. I had no idea it was so popular? I suppose the weather is amazing and the beach is just beautiful. Incase you hadn’t guessed, I had never been to Lanzarote before.

We rented a car one of the days and did a little exploring. We drove all around the island and visited a quaint little town called Teguise. It was like stepping back in time in the Mediterranean, all the buildings were bright white with green shutters and they had a beautiful square with a church and lots of little boutiques and cafes. There were some beautiful jewellery boutiques and quirky clothing shops too.   Originally my sister and I didn’t want to bother with renting a car as we wanted as much time as possible in the sun, but Im so happy we did in the end. Definitely worth doing if you are visiting the island. Im pretty sure you can drive from top to bottom in about 2 hours.

We then drove to Playa Blanca that evening for some dinner. Playa Blanca is another very popular area on the island, its definitely a lot quieter and more family orientated the Puerto Del Carmen. So bare that in mind if you are thinking about visiting the island.

Overall the whole week was very relaxed and chilled. We didn’t get up to much other than sunbathing and eating – which, I wouldn’t have any other way!

I also discovered my new FAVOURITE holiday shop in Lanzarote, its called Oysho. Which I believe is part of the company who owns Zara and Pull and Bear etc, but, I had never come across it before! Well I fell in love when I went into the shop I must have bought everything they had. It was amazing value and they stocked such fab holiday wear and lingerie/nightwear that you just wouldn’t find in Ireland.

I got this jumpsuit in Oysho, which is linked down below. Writing this post has made me so excited for my next trip with Pete during the summer, roll on July!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post guys.
