My Last Summer’s Day Outfit

As I’m writing this blog post the news of what happened to Kim Kardashian in Paris has been all over the media and I am honestly so compelled by the whole story, I have been checking my Daily Mail app for updates hourly! I just cant believe it, like how on earth did her security team allow this to happen? Only time will tell I guess? But Im so happy she is ok and although she flaunts her wealth and jewellery all over her social media, I wouldn’t wish that to happen to anyone! Nonetheless I am totally addicted to this whole narrative and cant wait to see how it all unfolds, its like a movie – and I don’t mean to be insensitive, but the whole thing is just so gripping.

On a lighter note, I have another little outfit of the day from NYC. God, this time last month I was all excited to go away on my holiday and now it feels like it was months ago. Probably because the cold weather and shorter evenings are coming in, which, I kinda love. I don’t know about you but I feel like I just “do” autumn/winter a lot better than summer. Maybe its because I’m from Ireland, but I’ll be the first to admit I hate buying summer clothes because I just don’t get the wear out of them, which, I think most of you Irish gals can relate to. It seems pointless to me to get too hyped up about summer fashion or invest too much of my money on shorts and string tops. So I just kept my outfit choices very basic and simple in New York. But, wouldn’t ya know I still haven’t worn any of my “summer” tops I bought for the occasion since my return – typical.

One item I was delighted to pieces with was my Levis denim cut off shorts. A little more pricey than your average pair from the high street, but, so worth it in my opinion. I bought mine in the Levi shop on Grafton Street but you can find them online too. I owned a pair of Levi shorts for about four years and wore them to death on every summer holiday I had been on, so, I decided to treat myself to a new pair. They just last so well and denim shorts just NEVER seem to go out of fashion. There a great investment piece.

I paired them with this boho print off the shoulder top from Topshop which I looove right now – pity I wont be able to wear it till’ summer 2017! Oh well!

What are some of your favourite summer pieces?
