I have been dying to review this product for you all, in fact, I have been dying own this product for the longest time. I suppose its the face mask that needs no introduction – GlamGlow. I purchased this mask in Sephora when I was in New York a few weeks back. I’m not sure wether it was the 6 hour flight or that I was wearing makeup in super humid wether and it was clogging my pores, but my skin was not looking its best. I had broken out around my mouth and I had them pesky under the skin spots on my forehead (bain of my life) so, when I seen the GlamGlow stand in Sephora I was like YAS!
Now normally when it comes to face masks I would usually go for a hydrating or brightening mask but because of my skins current situation I decided I would go for their Supermud Clearing Treatment. Which, was a bit of a risk because I have quite sensitive skin, but I gave it a go anyway and I am so glad I did.
The first time I tried this, looking back I applied waaay too much and my skin started throbbing which may be a red flag for some people but please let me explain. I left it on for maybe about 7-10 minutes and then washed it off, which by the way comes off easily with warm water and a cotton pad. My skin looked amazing and all my pores had basically disappeared, under the skin spots – gone! But then shortly afterwards my face started to go really red, I was like uh oh am I having a reaction? But no, the redness went down eventually and my skin looked great, but because of this I was slightly apprehensive to use it again – throbbing red skin, not really a good sign.
But the other night I decided to give it another go just to see if that happened again. So this time I applied it a little less heavy handed and just applied a light layer over my face. It hardened as usual like last time, and by the way, when it sets – it sets! You can barley make any facial expressions whatsoever. But, no throbbing this time and when I washed it off there was no redness. My skin looked so clear and even!
As this mask is quite heavy duty don’t apply too much like I did the first time. It comes in a small tub which probably means you really don’t need that much. This mask contains a lot of ingredients like Glycolic, Salicylic, Lactic and Mandelic to help with common skin concerns. So, its not something I would be using very regularly and it is advised to use sunscreen for the week after use as well. It can also be used a spot cream too.
But overall I am so happy with the results from this treatment mask and I would definitely recommend it if you are having some breakouts, but I probably wouldn’t use this if you have very sensitive skin. I cant wait to try more products from this brand and I am so happy with my purchase.
This product normally retails for around €50.00 and you can purchase it in Arnotts.
