Well hello everyone! As some of you may have seen from my instagram @thesoundoffashion, I was in The Big Apple last week! So devastated to be back home and back to normality writing this post. Looking through all our photos and remembering how much sight seeing and activities we packed in to those 5 days is really making me want to return asap! We had the most amazing 5 days, it was such an unforgettable holiday. My boyfriend had never been to the city before, I had been there previously about 10 years ago, but I still felt like it was a first time visit for myself because I couldn’t really remember anything.
Our flight landed in Newark airport at around 12pm and we had arranged a shuttle bus from the airport to drop us to our hotel in Times Square for about $20, which I would really recommend doing rather than paying for a taxi! When we arrived we were told our room would not be ready until 3pm so we decided not to waste the day and we quickly got changed into our shorts and tshirts as it was like 30 degrees over there (was not at all prepared for how humid it would be!) and headed out the door.
We stayed in Novotel Times Square which was such an amazing hotel and in a great location. We had views of the city from our hotel room and they had an outdoor rooftop restaurant/bar which looked over Times Square. It was just perfect for us!
Central Park was about a 15 minute walk from our hotel so we decided to head there and go for a stroll and find somewhere to get some grub, as we were pretty hungry at this point from all our travelling. On our way there, we picked up two smoothies from a fresh fruit and juice cart, which were all over the city.
We walked through the park and headed towards the Boathouse for some lunch and to rent rowing boats. I had heard from a friend of mine that lived in NYC that this is something you must do!! You can rent the boat for around $10 for 1 hour and just row around the lake. It really was an experience and the weather that day was amazing!
After that we took a long walk through Central Park and headed back to our hotel were we completely crashed at about 9pm! Jetlag is a killer.
