Recently Ive been feeling a bit meh about my makeup bag so I decided it was time to invest in some new products to try. I’m not overly familiar with Nars makeup other than their Sheer Glow Foundation which is amazing by the way, but, Ive always had an inkling to try out their Radiant Creamy Concealer and their All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. So, I finally bit the bullet and purchased myself some new base products!
So first off lets talk about the All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation (God that is a mouthful!) My first impression of this foundation was that it was extremely liquid-y. Almost to the point were I thought perhaps I got a dodgey bottle because it seemed to separate on my hand. I must point out that before you use this foundation shake it well and then when you think you’ve shaken it enough, shake it again! Thats how Ive solved the problem of it separating.
Its an extremely pigmented foundation so it gives you amazing coverage without needing to apply too much, two small pumps and your good to go. Which would probably explain the weightless feeling, you really cant feel the foundation on your face at all. Its medium coverage but really easy to build up to a very full coverage foundation. But I think the beauty of this foundation is really down to the amazing pigmentation and the fact that you don’t need to wear loads of makeup to feel flawless!
It lasts a considerable amount of time on your face without needing to powder or touch up throughout the day. I wore this foundation for the second time into work last week and didn’t feel the need to fix my concealer around my nose or chin. By the evening time (around 5pm) I did notice it needed to be touched up on the centre of my chin and sides of my nose, as there my oiliest zones. But other than that it really did stand the test of time. So I was really happy with it.
There is a luminous effect about it on your face, but it doesn’t feel particularly oily on the skin, it feels more powder based. Its not as luminous as my Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation but that foundation does need to be touched up a lot more and doesn’t last as long.
Overall I’m super impressed with this foundation and would definitely recommend it. Mine is in the shade ‘Deauville’.
One of the main products from this post that Ive wanted to try out for ages is their Radiant Creamy Concealer, I toyed between this one or the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer, as I heard lots of people prefer that one, but curiosity definitely killed that cat with the Nars concealer for me. I feel like it was the original concealer everyone went crazy about last year so I had to give it a go.
I bought mine in the shade ‘Chantilly’ as I love a really brightening under eye concealer. Its a really pigmented concealer and is quite stiff to blend in comparison to others I’m used to. What I like about it is if you place it in a particular area you want to conceal it doesn’t budge when you blend, which I love, as most concealers move around a lot when you buff them in and don’t end up concealing anything. I had heard that this concealer can crease quite badly but I haven’t found it to crease badly on me at all or at least no more than my old concealer.
So far Im loving using these two products together and I love the coverage that the concealer gives to my under eye bags.
Then to tie it all in together I purchased a Nars Pressed Powder in the shade ‘Flesh’ which is a very natural shade for my skin tone. I found this powder to be quite a heavy as it has a considerable amount of coverage and pigmentation in itself. Its similar to Mac Studio Fix powder or maybe a little lighter. The powder definitely ties these three products together nicely and I would definitely recommend all three of these products if you are in the market for some new base products.
Have you tried any Nars products before? Let me know as I definitely want to try more from this brand!
