Hello guys! Hope you all are well? Ive decided to try some protein pancakes for the first time today in honour of the best holiday ever – Pancake Tuesday! I was a little sceptical at first because I love my pancakes especially smothered in Nutella and strawberries, but, I thought since I’m trying to be more conscious of what I’m eating I would given them a test run.
Honestly, to my surprise, they tasted delicious! definitely one to add to the breakfast/lunch menu in future, and they are so easy to make. They would also make a great snack to eat cold. I also decided to try make a healthy version of Nutella from Deliciously Ella’s blog. But, quite frankly I’m not too sure about that one. I just think its going to be so hard to beat the creamy chocolatey taste of Nutella, but hey, it was worth a shot!
For the Pancakes
25g of porridge oats
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
This mixture makes roughly about three small pancakes. Just add everything to a blender and fry them on the pan.
For the Nutella
2 packets of hazelnuts
1 cup maple syrup
3 tablespoons of raw cacao powder
Toast the hazelnuts in your oven for about 10 minutes, then let cool. Add them to your mixer and blend them up until they form a gritty powder. Add the maple syrup and cacao powder and mix together. Add half a cup of water until the mixture begins to smooth.
Let me know how your pancakes turn out!
