Brows, Brows, Brows!

Hey Guys! So today I thought we would talk brows! With so many eyebrow products on the market its hard to know the good from the not so good and just what product is the right one for you!? We have powder products, pomades, brow gels, brow markers all the way to the good ol’ eyebrow pencil. Honestly I think we all can agree its getting a bit intense!

Ever since Cara Delivegne burst into our magazine pages with her covetable full brows, we all wanted them. However no matter how much eyebrow pencil, wax, powders we apply some of us will never have the natural thickness like she does, *sigh. But, there are plenty of eyebrow products to choose from on the market nowadays that can help you fake it till you make it. I have ended up accumulating a fair few, so, I thought I would let you know some of my favourites.

I think I’ll start off with one of my newest purchases and one that is soon wiping the floor with the rest and at half the price! Soap and Glory’s Brow Archery is absolutely brilliant in my opinion and is so easy to apply. One end is a felt tip marker with a really skinny nib which is great for drawing in little hairs that make your eyebrows really natural looking. The other end is a waxy pencil which is good as well as its not too pigmented so its hard to over do it. I love a natural brow and I like to see my own eyebrow hairs so this gets a 10/10 from me. Whats even better is its only €13.50 from Boots. Mine is in the shade ‘Love is Blonde’.

Next up I’m going to discuss the product that set off my obsession with the eyebrow – Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade. I purchased this product over two years ago when I was in The States on holidays and have never looked back. Its one of my go to products and Ive repurchased it a few times now. Mine is in the colour ‘Soft Brown’, which, is the perfect ashy-dark brown shade. Its so hard for me to find a brow product thats dark without containing warm tones. Because my brows are so fair warm tones show up really ginger on me. So thats the reason I always return to this one, the shade is just perfect.

Next up is another similar product but perhaps one I like just a fraction more. The Bulletproof Brows by Too Faced is another pomade product, I have mine in the colour ‘Universal Taupe’ which, is a lot fairer than the ABH one. This one is a little more powdery and a little less creamy than ABH. I like it because its quite difficult to mess up your brows as its quite hard to pick up too much product on your brush from its are harder texture. Whereas sometimes the ABH one can make your eyebrows look like you drew them on with a Sharpy! It also comes with its own two ended brush, which is perfect for the eyebrows.

A product from the drugstore I love is this little set from Maybelline – Master Brow Pro Pallet (try saying that in a hurry!). It contains an eyebrow wax, powder and highlight. I have to say I think this is a little gem of a product. The powder isn’t at all warm toned and the highlight shade is a nice little addition to the set. I don’t really bother with the wax as I don’t really like waxes but I’m always complimented on my brows when I use this product. I think I prefer powder over pomades these days as they make my brows look a lot more fuller and angular. You can really exaggerate your arch with a powder and a good angled brush. This one from Zoeva is a dream.

Ah brow gels, these are a product I honestly could not live without in my makeup bag. If you have thin brows like me, these just give them life! Here I have a drugstore and a more expensive option. The Benefit Gimme Brow is an amazing product as it contains little hair fibres that stick to your brows to make them appear more full. This tiny product is a little expensive at €28 but this one from Maybelline is really good as well. I might use the Gimme Brow for a night time look and use the Brow Drama for a daytime look as its not as exaggerated as the Gimme Brow.

So there you have it! I think I have accumulated every type of brow product on the market at this stage, but there are some I am still dying to investigate on. I’ll keep you posted!

Take Care,

Lauren xxx
